Why I'm Running

Throwing the Doors Open - Openness has several meanings, and Aldan can benefit from each. Council should not only open their ears and minds to the town's needs and desires, they should also open the town's public property to more community events. Refurbishing our public spaces, and enabling Aldan's many local organizations to use them freely, should be a priority of the borough government.

Environmental Responsibility - Aldan is well on its way to being the most attractive, appealing community in Delaware County, and it is the borough's duty to ensure that we achieve that goal. Environmentally friendly policies such as leaf and grass collection and composting have the dual effect of enhancing the community's natural beauty and providing safe, cheap mulches for the town's use.

Garden Swap Meet - We are fortunate, in Aldan, to have regular plant sale days, giving everyone the opportunity to build their own garden and enhance their home's landscape. We have the capacity to build upon this idea with a garden swap. Residents could bring their own excess flower, plant, herb, and vegetable cuttings to trade with their neighbors, saving money by exchanging their surplus for new goods and growing their own vegetables and herbs.
