Why I'm Running
Commitment to Aldan's Potential - Aldan's property values are tied to our community's self-image. Acquiring grant money for public works, energizing the tree commission and garden club, and investing in green spaces will not only make the borough more environmentally friendly, but will enrich our standards of living. It's only appropriate that the borough's investment in our public spaces matches our own investments in our personal property.
Energy Efficiency is Economic Efficiency - Borough council's chief responsibility is to efficiently steward your tax dollars. By investing in a recycling program, investigating more energy efficient building materials and policies, and working with SEPTA to improve access and usability of local public transportation, we can save money, conserve energy, and improve our little corner of the planet as well.
Citizen Access - The council's responsibility is to be as open and transparent as possible. All meetings should be open to the public, in easily accessible areas. If for some reason this is not possible, meeting minutes should be made available within one week's time on the borough website. The council should also ensure that the borough bill list, budget, contracts, and all other important documents are available as soon as they are approved.
