Why I'm Running

New Initiatives to Raise Property Values – There are a number of low-cost/high-return initiatives that we should consider under-
taking that could help sustain and even increase our property values. Creating a Broadband Lab, becoming a "Tree City," getting lawn & leaf pick-up––such enhancements should not require any increase in taxes––just some hard work, fresh thinking, and a more aggressive grant-writing program.

Citizens Advisory Board – Government works best when all our ideas have had a chance to be heard.

Accessible, Accountable Government – That is, government that was originally elected by the town's people––rather than handpicked by the existing officeholders. In the event that an official has to step down, the process for selecting the replacement should include a public request for interested parties to apply. This is the standard practice at other local town councils. We should make this our policy too. A lack of transparency means a lack of accountability, and government needs to be accountable to the citizens it serves.
